This policy explains how Scilytica, an independent computational-biology and scientific-software company based in Seattle, Washington, handles information when you visit scilytica.com or send an inquiry. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to hello@scilytica.com.
Information we collect
Information you provide
The contact form collects your name, email address, organization and area of interest if supplied, and the contents of your message. Please do not send patient-identifiable information, protected health information, credentials, export-controlled material, or confidential or proprietary information through the form.
Website and request data
Our hosting, content-delivery, and security systems may process ordinary request data, such as an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, referrer, and diagnostic or security events.
Scilytica uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, traffic sources, device and browser categories, approximate location, and configured site interactions. Google Analytics may set a first-party _ga cookie containing a client identifier. We configure the website tag to disable Google Signals, advertising storage, and advertising-personalization signals, and we do not send contact-form values to Google. Scilytica uses Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate site usage. Plausible processes the page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location. It uses the IP address and user agent to create a daily identifier, then discards the raw values. We do not configure Plausible to collect contact-form contents or other directly identifying custom properties.

Service providers and disclosures
Amazon Web Services supports website hosting and delivery and processes contact submissions through API Gateway, Lambda, and Simple Email Service. Apple iCloud Mail hosts the mailbox that receives inquiries. Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics provide site measurement. These providers process information for the services they provide to us.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a business transfer, or to professional advisers and contractors who need it for an authorized purpose. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
Contact inquiries are ordinarily retained for up to 24 months after our last interaction, then deleted unless they become part of an active engagement or must be kept longer for legal, accounting, dispute, or security purposes. Request and security records, when retained, are ordinarily kept for no more than 90 days unless needed to investigate an incident. Google Analytics user-level and event-level data are retained for no more than 14 months; aggregate reports may remain available while the Analytics property is active. Aggregate Plausible reports are retained for up to 24 months. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before deletion cycles complete.
Cookies and choices
Google Analytics uses first-party analytics cookies. Scilytica does not use advertising trackers, Google Signals, or analytics data for cross-context behavioral advertising. Plausible does not use cookies, browser storage, or persistent identifiers. You can block either analytics script through browser privacy controls or content-blocking software without affecting the contact form. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Your privacy choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email hello@scilytica.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when the law permits or requires it. You may also contact your local privacy or data-protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and the contact form is not an appropriate channel for sensitive or regulated data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will be highlighted when appropriate.
